Storage Prototypes. The Ad Council of New York
Implemented in 1992
NY, NY

Commissioned to design and implement multiple storage prototypes for archiving of commercial video & radio tape, as well as a light box with print media storage capacity below. The prototypes were developed to be mobile and were outfitted with heavy-duty casters that were welded to one inch steel plates, putting the center of gravity at or below the finished floor. The skeleton was produced with TIG/MIG welded steel & metal parts; both raw and off-the-shelf components. The shelves were originally conceived as African cinnamon colored sandstone, but budget constraints resulted in the use of Finland birch plywood.
